C’est la Ford Focus d’Hirvo qui était la plus rapide lors du shakedown qui s’est déroulé ce matin au pays de Galles. Les conditions correspondaient plus à ce dont on a l’habitude pour le RAC : de la boue. Henning est sorti en tapant un arbre. Les temps :

Loeb : « Par rapport aux conditions hivernales dans lesquelles nous avons effectué nos reconnaissances, ce shakedown était parfait. La route n’était pas du tout gelée, mais boueuse et très piégeuse…comme souvent pour le Wales. Nous avons procédé à quelques ajustements au niveau des suspensions de notre C4 WRC. Le but n’était cependant pas d’essayer d’établir impérativement le meilleur temps. Nous avons surtout cherché à améliorer encore le comportement de notre voiture sur ces routes où l’adhérence est plus que précaire. »

Petter Solberg : « I did three runs on shakedown and ended with a good time, thats promising before the weekend. The car felt really good today and I promise you all there will be a full attack from the start. Tomorrow is a tough day, it starts with a 3 hour roadsection and only a remote service during the day. Everything can happen!«
