Subaru a aussi effectué ses tests en Allemagne il y a une dizaine de jour, Solberg, Atkinson et Pons tout nouvellement arrivé dans l’équipe sont passés derrière le volant. Solberg a commis une erreur lors des tests et a ainsi fait un petit tour dans la vigne un peu moins brutalement que Sordo alors que son fils s’est occupé de l’auto pendant toute la séance ! Subaru accueille donc un troisième pilote à partir du prochain rallye de Finlande alors qu’ils n’avaient pas reconduit Stéphane Sarazzin sous prétexte qu’il est trop compliqué de gérer trois autos… Pons arrive certainement avec sa grosse valise, mais va-t-elle suffire à réparer toutes les autos qu’il va casser ?
Xevi Pons : « I’ve done two full days of testing in the Impreza so far, about 300km in Wales and about the same on the German asphalt roads around Trier, and the car felt good. I’m pretty happy that we have a good base set-up for those two events now and I hope that we’ll get the same for Finland when we test there this coming Sunday. But it’s going to be a little bit hard joining an English speaking team as my English is not 100 percent yet. But I am having lessons and it’s improving every day.«
